RAINY DAYS Cascades of silver drops Descending from the grey sky, In quiet, low voice A symphony of grace and sigh. Paper boats sailing In streams of water, Puddles of mud underneath The cloudy shower.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES Back when the eyes were bright, And blinked in the air of pure light. Heart was as free as the air, And moved in the cozy, carefree lair. The morns were vivid and clear, Endowed with glee and cheer. The evenings were full of laughter, With no worries to chase after.

Some swift whooshing sounds, Echoing from a mile away, Slammed against my window panes, In a short sway. Gently, I peeped through The half-cracked glass, Oh! Spring is there Witnessing the swirling of gritty dust,

POETRY When the days are dark And the sun is hiding Behind the wailing clouds, When the nights are tragic And the moon looks blue With few stars around, The smiles fall apart And tears run throughout Leaving behind some words. Shivashree Goswami

THE LIFE It was a lonely road, Below the dark sky, I took my way To some unknown place I had never been to. Nor did I know how long it was Or how strange it would be, Just traversing on and on. The road was quite silent Might be all asleep, None to stand by me If I would ever slip. Alas! No one indeed. It made me scared, Sometimes cry, Whether I could catch the light And a better place, Better than this Darkness and loneliness; Someone with an amiable heart To talk to me, And I would share him the whole journey.

LIGHT IN THE NIGHT The world will fall asleep The noises will cease, Some light amidst darkness Bright and shiny. Some air cool and deep. Lingering on the terrace, My sleepy frazzled eyes see you Through the twinkles of the stars, My ears hear you Through the silence of the dusk. My heart feels your beats Below the black sky. I remember you at the night, Darkness and loneliness Fades away from my sight. Shivashree Goswami Guwahati
