It was the 10th year of our revolution. Many of our comrades lost their lives in the revolution, and we were simply a few left fighting for the cause. Our truck was about to cross 75th Street, moving to Sector 66. Sector 66 was renowned for its cultural heritage earlier. Now, the outbreak devastated the land in the worst possible way.
In the middle of 75th Street, we noticed a girl dressed in traditional attire (Sador Mekhela) walking between the streets. It has been years since I saw someone in this attire in this situation of utter chaos. There were bruises all over her body. She was wasting precious oxygen like bare trash. We immediately turned off our truck's oxygen and engine, put on our oxygen masks and cylinders and rushed towards her. We forcibly put on her oxygen, but it was too late. She succumbed to her wounds and lack of oxygen without even saying a word. There was a note on her left hand, " THEY BURNED EVERYTHING. HUMANS HAVE BECOME CANNIBALS IN THE NAME OF DEVELOPMENT". We kept her body in the robotic funeral room where dead bodies have been disposed of for the last 100 years as the nearly land has become toxic of plastic waste and all.
It has been more than 150 years since the outbreak. It is 2323, and almost every life on earth is on the verge of extinction. It all started when humans cut loose with the laws of nature about thousands of years ago. Around 200 years ago, humans tried to build an ecosystem and civilisation on Mars. Perhaps they were aware of the upcoming storm. They failed terribly. We exploited Mother Earth and expected the same for Mars. Who gave us the right? We are mere species like the others.
We started revolting when the big corporations started selling oxygen to the ones who could afford it. In these grave hours of human civilisation, corporations are still pleading for more and more money. We exploited every element on Earth, even the atmosphere. Earth lost its capability to produce necessary for the survival of organisms. The entire ecosystem is paying the repercussions of distorting nature by humans. The basis of our revolution is not only against the single blood-sucking corporations but against the establishment that humans faked over the centuries and termed as the necessity for growth and development.
We’ve reached the gates of Sector 66 to continue our revolution.
